I was raised in Conway, Arkansas. I received my Psychology degree from The University of Arkansas Fayetteville, and my Nursing degree from the University of Arkansas Little Rock.
I received my Master of Science in Nursing from Herzing University.
During my Nurse Practitioner training, I was chosen to receive the Herzing University Behavioral Health Workforce Education and Training Grant. This grant is awarded to only 10 students in each cohort and is awarded based on academic achievement. As a recipient of this grant, I was required to complete a research project in which I studied the effects of mindful meditation on anxiety disorders in patients being treated in the outpatient setting.
As the Spravato provider at APC, I am treating treatment resistant depression in those patients that have not been able to find relief with other medications. While my main role is managing the Spravato, I am also able to offer supportive psychotherapy during sessions if needed, and I love to research and explore alternative treatment options with patients if they feel they need additional support between treatments.
As a provider, I take a very special interest in Postpartum Depression, Anxiety, and Psychosis. I am a mother and friend to many other women that are mothers, and I have seen the ways that mental health struggles can shift postpartum experience. I enjoy helping women navigate postpartum mental health struggles so that they can be the absolute best version of themselves.
One of the most important aspects of building a strong provider-patient relationship is trust. As a patient, you are trusting that I will make sound and ethical suggestions for treatment that align with your needs and preferences.
As a provider, I am trusting that you will provide all necessary information for us to development an appropriate care plan, and that you are following said plan at home. When these things are happening, we become a team with a shared goal of improving symptoms and quality of life.
From a very young age, I knew that I would work in the mental health field in some aspect, as I have always loved being a support and a listening ear for others when they were dealing with hard times. As a provider, I value patient centered care and including patients when developing a treatment plan that is effective and respects any personal values and beliefs that need to be considered.
I am very excited to be joining the APC team and working alongside so many well-respected providers that I will be able to learn from and grow in this field with.
When I am not at work, I enjoy spending time with my husband, daughter, and my friends. I love going to the movies and trying new restaurants in the area. One special hobby of mine is photography! I have been doing photography for about 4 years now. It is such a passion of mine helping others capture special memories to be able to have and look back on for a lifetime.
