SPRAVATO® is an FDA-approved nasal spray treatment derived from esketamine that is designed for qualifying patients who have not found enough relief from traditional antidepressant medications. Unlike the majority of standard antidepressants,
SPRAVATO® works through a different pathway in your brain—this is why it could work for patients who do not achieve results from other treatments. If you are exploring new options for treatment-resistant depression, knowing what to expect with SPRAVATO® treatment can help prepare you for your next visit.
Arkansas Psychiatric Clinic (APC), Arkansas’ longest serving psychiatric clinic, provides exceptional outpatient psychiatric care to the people of Arkansas. Our clinical team includes knowledgeable and compassionate doctors, nurse practitioners, and therapists who work together to provide personalized support to our patients. APC offers cutting-edge treatment options and a wide range of specialists who are committed to improving patient outcomes.
Understanding SPRAVATO® Before Your First Appointment
When considering what to expect from your SPRAVATO® treatment, know that it will begin with a thorough evaluation by our nurse practitioner, Celeste Lee.
Before starting SPRAVATO®, Celeste will review your medical history, previous medication experiences, current medications, and overall health to determine whether this approach may be appropriate for you.
At APC, Celeste Lee serves as the SPRAVATO® provider and works with patients experiencing treatment-resistant depression. Her focus is on helping individuals who have tried other medications but have not found the relief they need. Celeste takes time to understand each patient’s experience and also provides supportive psychotherapy during sessions when needed. She has a special interest in postpartum depression, anxiety, and psychosis, and she works with our patients to explore additional treatment options that may support their mental health journey.
