Mari Bowling, M.D.
Psychiatrist
Originally from Texarkana and having completed her undergraduate degree at the University of Arkansas, Dr. Mari Bowling received her medical degree from UT Southwestern in Dallas, and afterwards completed her psychiatry residency training at the UT Medical Branch in Galveston, TX and a fellowship in child and adolescent psychiatry at the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences.
Dr. Bowling's area of expertise is trauma and Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD). Prior to joining APC, she worked closely with human trafficking survivors and also treated children in therapeutic foster care. She has extensive training in treating ADHD, depression, anxiety, and many other psychiatric conditions.
Dr. Bowling's interest in treating mental health issues came after someone she cared about attempted suicide. She focuses her practice on working with kids, teenagers, and young adults. Knowing that it can be intimidating to seek out psychiatric care, Dr. Bowling works hard to make each visit as stress free as possible and making sure that every patient feels like their concerns are being heard. She has a collaborative style and works closely with patients and families to help them meet their treatment goals.
Outside of work, Dr. Bowling is active in her local church and enjoys spending time with her husband, three children and three dogs.
