Kimberly Sherrill, M.D.

Dr. Sherrill completed her medical training at The University of Texas Medical Branch at Galveston in 1980 followed by psychiatry residency at Duke University Medical Center.

After fellowships in Psychosomatic Medicine and Burn Medicine, she participated in the Robert Wood Johnson Clinical Scholars program while completing a master’s degree in Public Health Epidemiology. She then served on the faculty of the Department of Psychiatry at Wake Forest University Baptist Medical Center in North Carolina until 1994 when she began work in the public mental health setting including 8 years in community mental health, a year with the Veteran’s Administration and 4 years as a contract psychiatrist for the Army at Fort Wainwright, Alaska. She then worked in private practice in Alaska for 5 years before relocating to Little Rock to be closer to family.

Dr. Sherrill is interested in working with all types of problems including depression, bipolar disorder, psychotic disorders, anxiety disorders and posttraumatic stress disorder. She has a special interest in working with individuals with concurrent diagnoses of substance disorders and mental disorders.

Dr. Sherrill believes in careful, compassionate listening to her patients, and accordingly uses a combination of medication management as well as elements of psychotherapy in her work.

Dr. Sherrill is Board Certified in psychiatry by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology.
